Been a month since I've last updated the blog. I havn't updated the links or media pages. Originally I was going to write about media I like, but I wanted to dedicate those pages to personal projects as oppose to writing something with a lack of real critical thinking and filling the pages with "here are things I like".

Speaking of personal projects, I've begun work on two. I have a band that will be recording a 2-song single soon, we are aiming for recording it by the end of the summer and hopefully having it mixed, mastered, and released by fall. Besides that, I am working on a recording of a metal/hardcore/noise rock nature based on very old material I wrote back during the quarantine years. I've recently obtained a Behringer UMC404HD interface, as well as a Ugritone drum plugin, so that might give you an idea of what it will sound like. That recording will be a 3-song EP, which I aim to release by the end of this year. I am also planning on reviving a very old musical project, however I am currently writing songs for that so that won't be out until next year.

Once suitable mixes will be ready, I will include downloadable audio files of work-in-progress recordings in the media page. I will use the link page to link the music I will release.

Last month I was invited by a friend to drive up to Bass Lake, I spent the weekend there. I didn't take many pictures, but here's one I took on the way back home:

It was a nice drive back

Been thinking of what I'm ambitious about. I would like to travel to the midwest, and find a suitable state to call home. I'm still in school for welding, and the next semester starts next month. Once I finish and get my certificate I will stay in my current state for a few years, earning work experience. Then I will set off and find my place in the world. I'm looking at Minnesota, I've heard the Twin Cities are a nice place to live. I'll live in Minneappolis for a while until I can save up for a home in the northern woods.

I have an interview later this week, hopefully I can move on from my current job soon. I'm going to see the new I Know What You Did Last Summer this friday. Saw the new Jurassic Park last week.

I wish all reading this to have a good day. Dream big, and always do something new.

Getting there. Day 2 of building the new web site. Got a guestbook up and running and currently working on the various pages I plan on including, the sidebar will give you a clue on what exactly I want to add.

Been feeling nostalgic over the pre-COVID years (George Carlin would hate me). Back in 2019 I did two issues of a zine dedicated to the local music scene. I always wanted that zine to grow out into something bigger, and I planned on making a neocities page for it at one point before I abandoned the project. A subsection of this site will be dedicated to that zine, however first I must finish the main site itself before I get ahead of myself.

the rays

As you can see I'm in the process of learning HTML and making a new and improved web page. I'm trying to figure out different tricks to make this site work the way I want it to. Having trouble with keeping images in their original size, the photo I posted below isn't supposed to be as big as the div. Hopefully I can figure this out by the end of summer.

I'd rather have these test pages be set to private so I can make a grand reveal once I'm finished with everything, but I suppose it would be cool to show my work-in-progress to the handful of people who still follow me. I'm really shooting for the 90's look so I'm keeping this within a 800x600 ratio with a very simple but pleasing look overall. The banner is just about finished, most likely I will purchase the stock image I used for it so it won't contain the watermarks. Or maybe I'll keep them in just to keep you on your toes.
