Today I got to see Faraquet play in a little bar out in Los Angeles. It was a nice show. Apologies for the lack of updates, I wanted the next update to be made when the Wesley Project single was released but that has been delayed. The vocals still need to be recorded and guitar overdubs need to be done too, currently the vocalist is on vacation and will be back by the end of this week. As for the Azanah material, vocals still need to be done for that as well but we've been lagging as a result of scheduling conflicts. This has been a pretty lame "update" but I've gone on for long enough without a word.
Starting my next semester this friday. In the meantime, I've uploaded another tracker tune I made last year to the media page. I never gave it an official title, so for now we'll call it "Pad Lead". This sunday will be when the recording sessions for The Wesley Project's single will be held. We are looking at next tuesday to record some vocals for the Azanah record.
Yesterday we held another rehearsal for The Wesley Project, this time with the addition of a vocalist named Juan. It went well and we feel like Juan suits our style well. The last weekend of this month will be the day we finally commit these two songs to tape. Late September is still the likely release date for the single. Perhaps cassettes will be made.
Later today I'm going to meet up with an old friend named Leo and go over the Azanah material with him. He has agreed to take up the role as a vocalist for the project, and today we will go over "Body Falling Down Stairs", which he has written lyrics to.
Practice went well today. We were able to get the two songs down within two hours, we will have another practice next week and later this month we will hold a recording session. Late September seems like a likely release date for the debut Wesley Project single.
This upcoming Saturday The Wesley Project will have a rehearsal at our drummer's (Alex's) practice room. We will be there early, and there's a chance we'll record the basic tracks that same day and record overdubs and vocals the next week. Things are looking up for that band.
Recording for the Azanah record, which will be titled Memoirs of a Feral Child, has been going smoothly. The basic tracks are near complete. Vocals are next on the list. In the meantime, I have created an Instagram account for that project for the purpose of promotion, you can follow it here. I've also made an email address that you can contact me with regarding that project. New projected released date - Fall 2025.
Sebastian has made a Spotify playlist containing what is perhaps his greatest influence - 80's sophistipop and new wave. Contains China Crisis, Tears for Fears, and others. Check it out, and be sure to be on the look out for the upcoming Petrarca EP Slow Unnurtured Brain. Here's a link to Petrarca's Bandcamp. Here's the link to Sebastian's playlist.
