Uploaded another Azanah demo, "Don't Stare At The Sun", to the media page. I quite like the song, and it will be even better once vocals are recorded for it. My plan right now is to make instrumental demos for the three songs before I write lyrics and record vocals for them. I'm not very good with words, so it's very likely the lyrics will take the longest to complete out of this whole project.
I would like to thank everyone that has left me a kind word in the guestbook section, I like to check that page often because I am always very happy to know that people are checking my site out and are leaving comments. I also want to thank everyone that follows my Neocities profile. Thank you.
Been at work at making the Choke On A Laugh archive webpage and finished it just now, click here to see it, or check the links page.
Uploaded a rough demo to the media page, "Body Falling Down Stairs". Give it a listen! It's a rough mix, so the final version will have a little more power to it. This recording is basically a placeholder. Have a great day. :)
Had an interview this morning, it seemingly went well. I was told I was put on a waitlist, however, and it is very long so it might be a while before they get back to me. Will certainly continue my search and try to land more interviews.
Recording has been good so far, I'm hoping to have an instrumental demo uploaded to the media page by the end of the week. It will be titled "Body Falling Down Stairs", a track from my soon-to-be-realized EP as Azanah. In the meantime, I've uploaded a demo of a song I wrote in collaboration with my good friend and bandmate Sebastian (with his permission). It is titled "Enemy Tricep", a song that I wrote a few years ago that he later edited and added too. Some more notes on that song will be on the media page. In the links page, I've included a link to my old and abandoned project flight2039, not because I consider the sole demo released under the umbrella to be a quality work that reflects on my current skills (far from it), but because it's the first "serious" musical endeavor I've ever attempted. That name will be revived for a new style of music I am writing, though it will be a while until the next flight2039 release.
Sebastian is a great guy, and a better songwriter. He's been producing his own music for close to a decade now, and he is currently finishing a mini-album under his Petrarca handle that is looking to be released later this summer. Me and him saw each other today, working on the two songs for a single release I've previously announced for our band The Wesley Project. Currently the game plan is to finalize drum machine demos to show to our drummer, Alex, and the three of us can rehearse the songs together and prepare for a live studio session to record them properly. Updates will come as we progress.
I'm considering going back on my statement regarding the media page. I will still use it as a showcase for work-in-progress recordings, but there's nothing wrong with showing your influences either. The media page will be divided into two sections, one for my projects, one for projects I aspire to achieve in terms of quality. Last month I announced that I wanted to dedicate a page to a fanzine I ran a few years ago called Choke On A Laugh. I've debated this, because the writing in that zine is done so in a style and with a sense of humor I've moved on from. However, they contain (what I think are) great interviews with bands that were kind enough to indulge in my passion project. That page will not be finished for a while, but it's on the backburner.
